Mesmerising, sophisticated theatre. Beautifully staged and presented
Cutting Edge Drama Techniques
Orbit Shed teaches all its students cutting edge techniques which are only just being introduced into West End productions, such as Frantic Assembly style physical theatre and Sign Theatre which can currently be seen demonstrated in the award winning ‘Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’.
Our practitioners have trained in these techniques where the actors use physical imagery and a flow of movement to create an amazing effect on stage. Orbit Shed can give our members the experience of these techniques which make them stand out from the crowd when they apply for Drama Schools or University to study creative subjects such as drama, performance and theatre studies.
Core Principles
Orbit Shed primarily focuses on its workshops. We teach our members dramatic and social skills and try to perform at least once a year. As a member you will:
- Meet new friends
- Have fun
- Learn new skills
- Surprise yourself
Inclusive Theatre
We include everyone and don't audition - supporting each other to create excellence. We help those who need additional support due to disability and other factors to access our activities.
We meet at:
St Luke’s Church
Church Road
South Park
Reigate, RH2 8HY
Joining
We run taster sessions at the start of every term so children and young people can come and have a go.
Contact us to book your session.
We have a strong team of volunteers of all ages who ensure that every member gets the most out of every session.
To remain inclusive we maintain a maximum ratio of 1 child needing support to 3 not needing support. This does mean that we sometimes need to operate a waiting list but we offer permanent places as soon as we can.
Fees
Termly subscription fees are £40 payable at the start of term.
- Payment via our Just Giving website is preferred as this allows us to claim Gift Aid, significantly helping with our fundraising
- You can also pay by cash or cheque.
